The recording process has three parts:

1) Tracking - “lay down the tracks” means musicians in the studio play your music while our recording devices “capture” the sound.

2) Mixing - A recording could have anywhere between 1 and 20 or more different tracks, which have to be blended sonically to your specifications.

3) Mastering (broadcast ready). Platforms such as Spotify and Apple have strict criteria for “ingesting” your track into their systems, and if your track does not fit, they will adjust your data file (“crush” is how this might be described) so that it fits their rules. This process may degrade the quality of your recording. It is best to format your file to their specifications before submitting it.

The rates for our studio are;

Tracking: $55/hr.

Mixing: $65/hr- client must be present during this process
Result: Low resolution MP3 suitable for upload to TikTok, Youtube, etc, but not broadcast ready for streaming services, and with Work For Hire agreements documenting ownership of the sound recording by the client.

Mastering: $75/hr
Result: High quality broadcast ready “Wave” file and an MP3, with Work For Hire agreements documenting ownership of the sound recording by the client. The rates for studio musicians we have on call are $150 for the first hour, and $50-$100/hour thereafter, depending upon the musician. Studio Musicians are paid directly by the client. We will help you select the musicians, and arrange for their performances.
